All sailboat sails should be protected by covers

It is common to protect the mainsail of a boat, but much less the jib. However, both sails must be protected from UV rays to avoid deterioration.

Ease of use of the Guardtex jib cover

Many boat owners protect their mainsail with a cover, either a mainsail cover or a lazy bag. But very few owners protect the entire genoa with a cover, they just put an anti-UV strip on the jib. However, it is much more efficient and economical to protect the whole sail under a cover. This not only provides better UV protection, but also avoids having to frequently repair or sew a new tape every 3 years.

One of the reasons few boat owners buy a jib cover is that traditional jib covers can be bulky and difficult to hoist, roll up and lower. At Guardtex, we are pioneering a new way of designing jib covers, making them easy to use and much more practical. Our new jib covers are a great success with our customers.

What sets the Guardtex jib covers apart?

What sets Guardtex's boom covers apart from others on the market is our innovative sewn pulley design which allows for easy lifting, tightening and lowering. This makes them more practical and user-friendly compared to traditional jib covers which can be difficult to handle and manage. In addition, Guardtex jib covers are made with high quality materials and are designed to provide optimal protection for your jib sail against UV rays, weather and other factors that can cause damage over time. . . The marine canvas we use is an American fabric, weathermax 80, 7 times stronger than sunbrella acrylic, which makes it the ideal material for genoa covers which can wear out very quickly if the material is fragile or if the cover is not tight enough and blocked.
